Only a commish or admin sees these alerts — they exist to tell a league manager when something on the roster or an event's field needs their attention, without having to reopen the league and check.
What do I get alerted about?
Five things, all on by default the moment you're a commish or admin of a league, and all delivered as web push notifications:
- A new member joins your league through the public page, a join passcode, or an invite link — but not when you or another manager adds someone directly, since that's an action you already know about.
- A guest self-joins one of your events — a walk-up who needs seating before the round.
- An event's field fills up — you get told once, the moment the last open slot is taken.
- A waitlist starts on an event — once, when the first player lands on it.
- A player gets auto-promoted off the waitlist — every time it happens, since each promotion is worth a fresh look (you may want to double-check their tee assignment).
None of these fire for a manager who has been removed from the league or whose account has been deactivated — they no longer have any standing to act on them.
Do I have to turn this on?
No. These five alerts are on by default for every commish and admin, with nothing to set up. If you'd rather not get them, turn off Roster activity (managers) from your notification preferences (see below).
Can I get a push for every single RSVP?
Yes, but you have to ask for it — this one is off by default. A push per individual RSVP is a lot of noise for anything but a small league, so it ships as an opt-in extra called RSVP play-by-play. Turn it on and you'll get a push every time a player RSVPs in or out of an event (never for a repeat submission of the same status), showing the running "in" and waitlist counts.
Where do I turn these on or off?
Go to Profile → Notifications. If you manage at least one league, you'll see two extra toggles below the standard player notification categories:
- Roster activity (managers) — the five milestone alerts above. On by default.
- Every RSVP (managers) — the per-RSVP play-by-play. Off by default.
These two toggles are only shown if you're a commish or admin of at least one league — a player with no management responsibilities never sees them, since the alerts could never fire for them anyway.
Will I get notified about my own actions?
No. You're always excluded from the alert for something you did yourself — for example, if you RSVP into the last open slot, the "field is full" push goes to your co-managers, not to you.
